The Hyperliquid DEX team announced the launch of validator-driven prediction markets for real-world events as part of the HIP-4 upgrade. Bets will be published using automated newsfeed software and managed by validators. Validators will be able to vote on the markets’ deployment based on factors such as rule clarity, fairness, and subjective market quality.
The update integrated prediction markets into the Hyperliquid protocol’s core infrastructure, reducing reliance on external oracles.

This approach differs from that of other major prediction market platforms: polymarket uses the Universal Market Access Optimistic Oracle, which allows participants to propose and challenge market outcomes, while Kalshi operates within a more centralized system, where an internal team verifies evidence and determines market decisions.
