Ethereum Foundation staked another 45,034 ETH, worth approximately $93,11 million.

On February 24, the organization sent staking part of its funds. The foundation announced that it would lock up approximately 70,000 ETH, with the resulting rewards being returned to the treasury to support the foundation’s operations. Along with this announcement, Ethereum Foundation also staked 2,016 ETH worth $3,67 million.
We are pleased to take this important step to help protect the network. Ethereum and at the same time finance the main areas of activity Ethereum Foundation, including protocol research and development, ecosystem development, community grant funding, and more, the foundation stated at the time.
March 30 the fund blocked another 22,517 ETH worth about $46,2 million. This was the largest single staking- a move by the organization that brought the total number of ETH locked in the foundation to 24,623. After a new transfer on April 3, the total number of ETH will reach 69,657 (approximately $143 million), which is very close to the stated goal of 70,000 ETH.
For many years Ethereum The Foundation covered its expenses by selling ETH from its treasury fund. However, this approach was often criticized, as regular sales could negatively impact the price of Ether and lead to a decline in the foundation’s holdings over time. Now, the foundation has taken a different approach. Instead of selling ETH, it stakes a portion of its assets to earn rewards. This allows the organization to preserve its assets and generate income.
