The results research, conducted by Ernst & Young employees, allows us to answer the question of which cryptocurrencies institutions plan to invest in in 2026.
The firm’s staff surveyed 351 major decision-makers, including asset owners, employees of private banks, venture capital firms, family offices, wealth management firms, and hedge funds. It was found that 90,3% had already invested in virtual currencies. Forty percent of respondents who had invested in digital assets allocated 1-5% of their capital to them, 29% less than 1%, and the remaining 31% at least 6%.
This year, study participants plan to increase their cryptocurrency holdings and intend to purchase:
- Bitcoins (94% of respondents).
- Ethereums (90%).
- Solana (SOL) (38%).
- chainlink (LINK) (26%).
- XRP (XRP) (25%).

The reason many respondents are looking to invest in cryptocurrencies is their high potential. This is evidenced by the fact that 74% of respondents predict an increase in the price of digital assets over the next 12 months, 22% are betting on a flat trend, and only 4% predict a bearish trend. Furthermore, 60% of institutional investors ranked cryptocurrencies among the top three most attractive investment instruments based on risk-to-reward ratio.
