Donald Trump has once again publicly spoken out about digital assets. Speaking at the FII PRIORITY Miami 2026 summit on Friday, he declaredthat the US will become the world’s Bitcoin superpower.

We will become the undisputed global leader in cryptocurrency and Bitcoin. Bitcoin “It’s very powerful. Everything is becoming powerful. Now, a lot of people want to pay you in cryptocurrency. They want to pay you in Bitcoin. And we need to be at the forefront of all of these areas, let’s call it an industry,” the US President said.
Trump added that his administration was working hard to ensure the country remained at the forefront of the digital asset race and noted significant progress.
He also warned that competition in the global cryptocurrency market is rapidly increasing, particularly from China. Therefore, if America doesn’t take the initiative, China, which aspires to become a leader in this field, will take its place.
Trump also mentioned his political rivals and major banking institutions. He stated that he would not allow Democrats and their major banking donors to take control of the cryptocurrency space.
Last year, I signed the historic GENIUS Act, creating a clear and simple regulatory framework for dollar-backed stablecoins. “This was a historic achievement,” said the White House chief.
This rhetoric from Trump differs from his opinion on Bitcoin in 2021. Back then, in an interview with Fox Business, he stated that kriptovalyuta “It looks like a scam.” However, during the 2024 election campaign, his position changed dramatically.
