They came out on April 8th memoirs Changpeng Zhao’s Freedom of Money, which revived a long-standing feud with the founder OK Old Xu.
In the book, Zhao recounts his early life, career in finance and technology, and the founding of Binance in 2017. There are also details of the dispute over the contract in OKCoin and how competitors tried to undermine his authority with the help of “fear, uncertainty and doubt” (fear, uncertainty and doubt, FUD), portraying him as an incompetent technical director and seeking to slow down development Binance.
Zhao also wrote that in 2025, Huobi founder Leon Li complained to him about Xu, saying that Xu had reported him to the authorities several years earlier.

Xu wrotethat the memoir misrepresents key points of history, including Zhao’s work in OKCoin, a contract dispute with Roger Ver, allegations of market manipulation, whistleblower activities, and even his “current marital status.” He also accused the founder Binance that he “acted as a bribed witness and reported on Justin Sun.”
