Blockchain-detective Zach XBT A new investigation has alleged that 18-year-old US citizen Dritan Kaplani Jr. was involved in the theft of at least $19 million in cryptocurrency. The perpetrator used social engineering attacks against digital asset owners.
The investigation was published in series of posts on X, proves that the alleged perpetrator openly displayed luxury cars, designer watches, private jets, and nightclub interiors on social media, which he purchased with stolen cryptocurrency.

On According to Zach XBTOn April 23, 2026, during a Discord video conference, Kaplani allegedly disclosed information about the Exodus wallet, which at the time contained approximately $3,68 million in cryptocurrency. Several people allegedly participated in the conference, displaying their wealth to each other.

The investigation also includes crypto influencer and meme promoter YeloTree, who is allegedly accused of facilitating the laundering of stolen funds through a Miami car rental company. He faces up to 30 years in prison.
On information Zach XBTJohnson faces charges related to the theft of 185 BTC and faces up to 40 years in prison if convicted.

The investigator doesn’t rule out that Kaplani may have been connected to a group of underground online communities. Several of his friends were arrested, but Kaplani himself escaped prosecution. Zach XBT assumed that the perpetrator was a minor at the time.
