Interestingly, within a few months of the document’s publication, all three heads of protocol Ethereum Foundation members Josh Stark, Tim Beiko, Barnabé Monnot, Trent van Epps, Karl Beekhuysen, and Julian Ma left the organization. Alex Stokes went on indefinite leave.
None of the resigning employees publicly criticized the Mandate, but many still linked their departures to it. It was suggested that the Foundation was deliberately cutting staff, and that employees were pressured to approve the Mandate or risk losing their jobs.
