The largest Russian-language crypto exchange Grinex decided to pay clients compensation for assets lost as a result of a hacker attack in March.

Мanagement Grinex has made a strategic decision to compensate for the stolen assets and raise funds for this purpose. The team is working to restore the infrastructure and develop mechanisms for future compensation. The first step will be the launch of the ruble-denominated stablecoin A7A5.

According to anti-money laundering analytics firm CoinKit, hackers withdrew USDT from 54 addresses, most of which were online. Tron, and transferred them to two wallets on the same network. The assets, worth approximately $13 million at the time, were converted to TRX via the decentralized platform SunSwap. They were ultimately combined into a single address: TH9kgjfrKeTNeyXtDKvxCXZ1dVKr7neKVa.

Company Grinex was founded in Kyrgyzstan last spring as a successor to the Russian exchange Garantex, which was shut down by a US-led operation in March 2025. It is the main trading platform for A7A5, the largest stablecoin pegged to the ruble.
