6 banks are testing a stablecoin based on the Swiss franc • Happy Coin News

  • Six Swiss banks, including UBS has begun testing a Swiss franc-based stablecoin.
  • This is the first such initiative for Switzerland.

Swiss banking giant UBS объявил about a partnership with five other major Swiss banks, which will test stablecoin based on the Swiss franc.

PostFinance, Sygnum, Raiffeisen, ZKB, and BCV are also participating in the initiative, and together they will collaborate with Swiss Stablecoin AG to evaluate blockchain-based use cases for the Swiss franc. Swiss Stablecoin AG and the six banks will thus launch a digital workspace, or “sandbox.”

There is currently no regulated Swiss franc-based stablecoin in Switzerland, but one may emerge soon.

Fiat-based cryptocurrencies have seen incredible adoption over the past couple of years, with stablecoins gaining much of the influence.

Swiss financial infrastructure is renowned worldwide. Its integration with technology Block reflects the significant development of the crypto sector. It also proves that traditional financial platforms are increasingly taking digital currencies seriously.

The initiative to test a Swiss franc-based stablecoin is undoubtedly spurred by the passage of cryptocurrency-friendly legislation in the United States. In July 2025, the US Congress accepted the The Genius Act, the National Stablecoin Innovation and Guidance Act, was a significant milestone for the crypto and stablecoin industries.
