DEX-exchange based on Solana Drift Protocol has established on-chain contact with the owner of the wallets that contain the $280 million stolen in the hack.

The platform team sent messages on the blockchain from its Ethereum-addresses (0x0934faC) to four wallets associated with the exploiter, urging the attacker to contact them via Blockscan chat.

We are ready to talk, – wrote in Drift.

This type of blockchain messaging has become a common tactic for responding to exploits, allowing protocols to communicate directly with attackers while maintaining their anonymity. There have been cases, for example, with Euler Finance, when such actions resulted in a partial refund.

The message from Drift arrived several hours after an unknown sender named ENS readnow.eth contacted the attacker’s wallets via on-chain messages. The sender claimed to know who was behind the attack and demanded 1000 ETH in exchange for non-disclosure. However, experts and the protocol team have no way to verify this.

On according to SolanaFloor, the Drift affected at least 20 protocols Solana, including DeFi- the Gauntlet platform, the damage to which is estimated at $6,4 million.
